Private clubs are on the rise in Milan, as the city attracts a growing crowd of affluent tourists and expats who shop, dine at fine restaurants, and party at cool hangouts. Luisa Beccaria chose Casa Cipriani—a chic hotel and members-only restaurant set in a historic palazzo overlooking a park—for her fall show. Models wove around set tables, where guests enjoyed a breakfast of fresh croissants and cappuccinos—not a bad way to kick off the third day of a bustling Fashion Week.

The collection was called Into the Light. Said Beccaria: “It’s about the light of winter and how it makes colors deepen into darker tones, when the atmosphere becomes romantic and enveloping. But it’s also about women stepping into their own light, their own strength, to be seen and recognized as they deserve. We often lead the way—at home, within our families, and in the workplace. We are a force, and we want to be seen.”

Luisa and Lucilla Beccaria create with women in mind. Their vision of femininity is romantic, infused with a sense of quiet elegance—a sotto voce approach that is still compelling. For fall, they riffed on their best-ofs: breezy dresses in printed chiffon with plissé skirts, cocktail numbers in wool lace or organza, and flowing shirtdresses with ruched details. A modern edge came through structured peacoats, cabans, and redingotes in corduroy and herringbone tweed, lending the collection a stronger daytime appeal. Richer, darker hues added depth and variety to the Beccarias’ tried-and-tested formula.
