On May 12 and 13, Luisa Beccaria and Robin Birley cohosted two evenings celebrating Sicilian culture. The evenings took place at the exclusive member’s club at Birley’s 5 Hertford Street, Loulou’s. Chefs arrived from Castelluccio, Luisa and her husband Lucio Bonaccorsi’s romantic castle near Noto, to prepare a dinner of flavours and ingredients straight from the grounds, complimented by homemade bread baked in a wood oven, olive oil produced from the property’s olive groves, flowers, decor, and traditional live Italian music. The club was transformed into an enchanting atmosphere remniscent of the Sicilian mansion with three floors heavily decorated with flowers from the region and filled with luxurious perfumes to take guests straight to the heart of Sicilian culture and reflect the spirit of Luisa’s artisitc vision that make her collections so succesful. In the shadows, beautiful girls were adorned with lumionous floral garlands and candle lit lanterns modelling the equisite dresses to create an ethereal atmosphere and stir the senses. For those who love Italian fashion and cuisine, the style of Luchino Visconti and his magnificent adaptation of The Leopard, this Sicilian evening in the heart of London and in the pinnacle of British society was today’s interpretation.
